MY STORY
Hey! I'm Kaitlyn!
I’m a writer, editor, content creator, and PR advisor. I won’t call you out on your comma splices when we chat (unless you pay me to), but they will definitely give me a headache.
In 2018, I graduated from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Writing. I majored in Creative Nonfiction (think memoir or biography) and minored in Journalism and Professional Publishing. This basically means I’m a pro at writing in my diary, but I also write news stories, e-marketing content, blog posts, and more!
During my undergrad, I worked for the Martlet, UVic’s independent student newspaper, as a volunteer, staff writer, editorial assistant, and podcast host. Sometimes I did these things all at the same time. I wrote and edited CP-styled articles and put out stories for almost every beat—technology, arts, and culture have always been my favourite though.
After I graduated, I moved to Edmonton, AB to endure -30 C snow squalls (and to live with my partner). I worked as a barista, editorial assistant, insurance broker, and more. While grinding at my 9-5s, I went back to school (#foreverstudent) and attended UVic’s Public Relations Diploma program. In this CPRS-recognized program, I learned how to create long-lasting relationships with stakeholders, devise communication plans, and make your company more profitable through connection building.
In the fall of 2021, I moved just north of Edmonton to Bon Accord, AB, completed my Public Relations diploma, and started working fully remote. Since then, I've had a couple of babies on my hip and a laptop in my hand. I am returning from Mat leave in October 2026 to live the Working Mom of Two Dream™️.
